Service providers have become increasingly involved in the deployment of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs) in the enterprise to facilitate complex Unified Communication feature interworking, simplify interconnection via SIP trunking and enhance services around local enterprise policies.

However, like other networks, Enterprises are also undergoing fundamental changes as mobile device and application use increases, traditional applications are virtualized into the cloud and video services continue to gain momentum. As a result, the manner in which service providers recommend, support and utilize E-SBCs is also evolving quickly in response to these new real-time design and feature imperatives.
