Overview: Under the leadership of Comcast, Time Warner Cable and other major MSOs, the cable industry is vigorously pursuing a next-gen access architecture, known as the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP), for delivering broadband and video services to customers. Several large North American and European cable operators are now beginning to conduct or are gearing up for CCAP field trials, with commercial deployments expected to start as early as next year. But upgrading from today's separate CMTS and edge QAM devices to the powerful, super-dense, all-inclusive CCAP platform will take some capital and much careful work and planning. Cable operators will also have to sift through different technical options -- such as modular vs. integrated architectures -- for bringing their systems up to speed. In this webinar, we will examine the nitty-gritty issues of getting ready for the upcoming CCAP era.
