Overview: The arrival of new smartphone and tablets is resulting in mobile office ‘makeover’. The early days of mobile office were simpler when corporate liable mobile users were all issued the same device, and it was likely a BlackBerry, managed by a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and the liability for security and usage resided with enterprise IT. With the combination of BlackBerry smartphones and Enterprise Servers, security concerns were readily addressed while IT departments relied on features like tracking and shutting down lost or stolen BlackBerry smartphones. With the increasing consumerization of enterprise mobility, new devices and applications are being driven by company cost saving measures and the changing expectations of the digital generation. Rather than carrying two devices for their 24 hour day, BYOD or ‘bring your own device’ users with iPhones, iPads and Android devices now want to gain secure access to their enterprise email applications and corporate data. But supporting corporate-liable BYOD devices is challenging as they can’t be managed by existing BES, and for IT departments this creates a security risk and a management nightmare.
RIM has recently introduced Blackberry Mobile Fusion to leverage its unique position as a trusted provider of enterprise mobility worldwide to extend mobile device management and security beyond the installed base of BES to address the broader enterprise BYOD challenge. This custom webinar will highlight the need for enterprise mobile provisioning, security, remote back-up and BYOD policy implementation, and compare BlackBerry Mobile Fusion with several other competing enterprise-grade mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
