Overview:
Deployment of LTE and advanced IP-based services is placing new and demanding requirements on the Evolved Packet Core (EPC). Packet gateways must meet challenging data-plane performance targets, while new smartphone applications, combined with the “flat” nature of EPC, will also generate a large increase in signaling load. At the same time, evolving business models will mean operators need to make extensive use of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and advanced traffic management techniques. Increasingly, EPC will also be required to support non-3GPP accesses, such as Wi-Fi, and ultimately the convergence of mobile and fixed access. This webinar will address the critical role next-generation packet gateways play in underpinning advanced, revenue-generating services in the Evolved Packet Core.
