With the number of broadband subscribers growing steadily, the number of IP-enabled devices exploding and the number of IP-enabled services soaring, the world is rapidly running out of available Internet addresses. As a result, cable operators and other broadband providers must upgrade from the current Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) to the much more expansive IPv6 protocol very soon. But the big problem with IPv6 is that itís largely incompatible with IPv4, making for a potentially difficult transition.
In this special 90-minute Webinar, we will spell out how cable providers can upgrade to IPv6 while simultaneously supporting older IPv4 addresses for their existing broadband customers. With our team of industry experts, we will examine the technical and operational challenges that must be overcome and explore the different technology enablers that can be deployed.
